Reflection on Writing

Writing is not my forte. When told to write, I procrastinate, ALWAYS. Being more of a science lover, I prefer number, charts, graphs, formulas... anything but long and boring texts. I do enjoy reading, but it needs to be interesting, science related. Biology, Chemistry Physics, even Psychology, Culture, Arts but preferably Science.

I am a thinker. My brain is always working, so to say that writing this draft was easy, would be a complete false statement. I have too many ideas in my head and to put them in words, with a storyline that flows, "perfect" structure and a plot that makes sense, is very difficult to me. My ideas are like floating gas particles in the air. Floating freely in my mind, jumping up and down with the potential energy of  a 7 year old  jumping on a trampoline, rocking back and forth like a pendulum.

I have so much to write, but I just do not know how to write it and if whoever reads it will understand. I do not dream of being a writer but I would most definitely love to write short stories and publish them. Even my posts on social media, never exceed 4 sentences and I do have a lot to say and strong opinions on various science related topics.

For the past four weeks I have had the opportunity to take part in a CW Identity for ELLs online course. At the same time I am enrolled in an online Quality Management course. In both courses I had to do one of the things I fear the most, write. Not simply write, the writings would be posted and others would read it. Practice makes perfect, therefore this would be one of the ways I could overcome this fear.

With this experience I have realized that writing and science go hand in hand. One does not exist without the other. Even the greatest scientist have written numerous essays, projects and books. I should appreciate both, practice more and freely write. In time, I will feel more comfortable writing for myself and for others.
