All About Blog Writing
Week 1 - Reading
Due to the increased accessibility to reliable internet around the world, there has been an explosion in blog writing in the past decade. Everyone seems to have one! Or want to start one. Blogs are a great way to share online about yourself and your life. It can be for personal or professional purposes. You can educate others, entertain them or even use your blog to sell to people.
Let’s begin our deep dive into blog writing by first skimming and scanning a few different blogs following these instructions before our first live session:
Share the link to a teaching blog you read/or would like to read if you had time
Share the link to a non-teaching blog you read/or would like to read if you had time
Then answer these questions:
Choose a blog - either your own or one that has been shared:
Is there an About section to learn about the writer? What do you learn about them?
What is the writer’s niche?
What kind of topics does the writer cover?
Choose a blog post:
Does it have a catchy title? Is it effective?
Is the writing well-organised? How?
What type of content is it? Educational? Entertainment?Problem-solving? Other? Give details.
Did you enjoy the post? Why?
Does the writing have a particular style of writing? Is it persuasive?
You can repeat this exercise with more than one blog if you have time.
