Creative Writing Club - March - Digital Storytelling
The What: Digital Storytelling
At this point, the case has been made for developing Creative Fluency through critical reading and creative writing. And more specifically, we have even touched on the importance of English Language Teachers (ELTs) writing and sharing their own stories in the classroom. But if we really drill down, writing a story or speaking/telling a story are not the only options for expressing ourselves in a creative way. There is a third way. And that way is Digital Storytelling - a technique that combines storytelling with multimedia elements such as images, videos, and sounds.
The Why: Digital Storytelling
Learning the skill of digital storytelling can be transformative for you as ELTs, as it offers an innovative approach to language teaching and learning. This approach encourages students to use their creativity to express themselves in English, thereby enhancing their language skills. Moreover, digital storytelling can also help you to create a more engaging and interactive classroom environment that can lead to higher levels of student engagement and motivation. By incorporating digital storytelling into your language teaching, a deeper understanding of the English language can be fostered, while and create a more dynamic learning experience is created.
